A POLITE ENCOUNTER AT RUDE HEALTH CAFE

It was roughly 9:00 am on the morning my daughter and I made our way to the Rude Health Cafe on New King's Road.

I know I've been MIA on the blog for a while, but if you follow my youtube channel, you'll know all about the lifestyle changes I've made in regards to my diet as well as the reasons why.

I'll be sure to cover it in depth on the blog at some point, but for now, my reasons for wanting to visit the rude health cafe was because I find it generally difficult to eat out, as most places don't cater to the types of food I want to eat.

I've since created a mini bucket list of healthy and organic restaurants or breakfast places to visit and Rude Health was at the top of my list.

That morning I was on my way to the annual Packaging and Innovations Exhibition event with my cousin in search of suppliers for my startup. Again, another blog post.

Anyway, I'm already a massive fan of rude health. I love all of their products and the fact that they're passionate about sticking to raw ingredients - minus the refined sugar, fillers, and preservatives. The cafe is an extension of just that, and they've also done an amazing job of embodying the bright and bold colours of rude health that we are all used to seeing on their packaging.

LOCATION

The cafe was quite easy to find. As soon as I got off the bus, the bright pink exterior came into focus and once clear of the fencing the whole cafe was in full view

SERVICE

I have to say the staff were so lovely and welcoming. You can tell that each of them are genuinely passionate about what they do and they were so accommodating. That's something I definitely look at when I visit a restaurant because when it comes to hospitality, it's so easy to hire people who are just there to make a dollar, and there are others that are just brilliant at it.

PRESENTATION

I love the setup of the cafe, it's very minimal and definitely instagram worthy when it comes to taking photos. As well as the open seating areas, there is a large white shelf which is full of rude health product that you are able to buy as well as books and other health-related items. They also have a few other brand products available that fit in with the ethos of rude health themselves.

I also love the fact that there is a high table with stools at the back of the cafe where you could literally come down with a laptop, plug your headphones in and enjoy the sunlight radiating through the cafe window and get lost in the space

FOOD

So, down to the real deal. As I said before, this was the first of cafes on my mini bucket list of restaurants to try, so I had already checked out the menu on the website and planned what I had wanted to order in advance. To my shock and dismay, I was told upon ordering that what I wanted to order was only available on the weekend menu - but it wasn't listed as a weekend special on the website, which I have to say really annoyed me.

I don't know how some of you guys are, but you know when you have your heart set on something and you get told you can't have it, anything you eat in replacement just doesn't quite cut it no matter how nice it is.

In the end, I had a choice between the sprouted oats and the sourdough toast with avocado, beetroot and goat's curd. Although I love, love their sprouted oats, I buy it all the time and have it for breakfast almost every day, so I decided to go for something different.

I have to say I really enjoyed it, along with my turmeric latte. I'm not really a fan of avocado but after adding a bit of salt and combining it with the rest of the ingredients it was a winner and also very filling. I also loved the combination of colours on the plate which made it all the more inviting.

"honestly, I'd definitely go back there, I've already

decided it has to be a saturday so I can experience that

rude special"

I'm genuinely so excited to see more cafe's like this pop up around London as I believe you should still be able to look after your health outside the four walls of your home. My only hope is that they become more local and not just set up in the more uptown parts. Eating well should be accessible to all as well as transcend beyond the middle and upper classes.

Rude Health? It was anything but a polite and lovely experience.
