It has been a minute and a day since I have written a post for the website; and truth be told I've missed it so much. In actuality, I think its been almost two years and it doesn't even seem like it was that long ago. The COVID situation really seems to have forwarded the concept or feeling of time.

I have always had big plans for this platform but looking back over the last few years; it doesn't seem to have been the right time. That said, a few things have been happening in the last few months; a shift if you will, and the way things are finally pulling together; my hope is that this time around it really becomes established, and I can apply the knowledge I've learned to help people.

If you’ve visited the site before, you’ll notice that there has been a few changes. On the other hand, if you're brand new to the site, I'd like to extend a warm welcome. My prayer is that you will find peace, reasoning and healing here.

Before I explain the detail of this first post; I'll quickly share a bit of background so you can get a glimpse of who I am and understand what it is I'm hoping to do.

When I first started my website and social media pages, I was blogging about lifestyle, fashion and beauty. I started off as the Pandora Rose and then later on it shortened it to the PR. As I was still working in the fashion industry at the time, the name seemed to fit.

But as most of you know it was also during that time that my skin started to freak out. The eczema that I had all over my legs started to completely cover my body, and it was at that point I decided to take a break from social media altogether. I just didn't feel comfortable with people seeing me in that state.

Fast forward a few months, I realised that my skin wasn’t going to get any better anytime soon, so I shared on my youtube what was actually happening. The response was literally overwhelming. I really didn’t expect that so many people would write to me saying they were going through the same thing so I decided to keep sharing my journey. The rest they say is history; but the name I had I felt just didn’t fit anymore.

So without further a do, welcome to The S.KINFLUENCE. The new name, the new logo; everything has such a real personal meaning to me, it literally feels like I’ve birthed a newborn baby.

I have so much to share with you so look forward to a lot of content being uploaded to the website.

So back to the topic; Healthcare is Skincare. What does this even mean? I've explained in detail over on my YouTube channel as well as the website about what happened to my skin in 2017 and I’ve also spoken extensively about the steps I took to ensure my skin would heal. I'm not sure if people have realised this yet, but 4 out of 5 of those steps had nothing to do with my actual skin.

The skin is the body’s largest organ. It sounds weird even calling it an organ but it is, and it has extremely important functions.

One of those functions is to eliminate toxins from inside the body. So every time we see a breakout or a range of spots pop up; you know something is out of balance. For my entire body to end up covered in eczema; there had to be something extremely off inside my body. Eczema only becomes chronic and consistent when the body is overwhelmed and the eliminatory organs are struggling with the amount of toxicity that needs to be eliminated.

The body in an effort to save us; diverts everything to the skin, as that is the quickest route of elimination.

When I open my DM’s or emails from other people who are going through it the question is usually; "What did you use to heal your skin?" or "What did you use for hyperpigmentation?"

I completely understand the reasoning behind the question because we have been programmed by the mainstream that topical creams fix skin issues; but in reality they don’t.

When I embarked on the journey to heal my skin; it started with eliminating any and every toxic exposure which included removing a tooth which had a hole inside of a mercury filling. I also battled to move out of a house that had visible and obvious signs of mould.

The next steps were to eliminate inflammatory foods and replace them with gut healing ones; as well as foods that were rich in antioxidants.

One element that was also key to healing was also incorporating a fitness regime. At the time my skin was too sore and too unsightly to go to the gym, but I did buy myself a bike and ride it to work every single day. I was working in Acton at the time so my ride was roughly an hour and a half each way. Exercise is truly a game changer because for the body to heal; it has to move.

Then last but not least, I had to deal with my emotional and mental baggage. I will do posts on all these individual aspects in the coming weeks, but my point is; if you desire clear, glowing and healthy skin. The focus isn’t actually the skin at all; but your overall health as a whole.

If I didn’t take all of those steps towards healing and resorted to just creams to fix me; better believe I would still be in the same state.

Now don’t get me wrong; topical creams do have their place. The creams I used and mixed up myself were a massive aid to healing, but if the internal functions are wreaking havoc within the body, the skin will never heal with just creams.

In essence, taking care of your health is taking care of your skin; and because the body is a whole, it makes sense to deal with it as a whole.

You’ll notice that I’ve added a new menu under health, where I’ll be adding posts on herbal and natural medicines as well as specific posts on skin and nutrition.

My aim and my hope is that the S.KINFLUENCE becomes a one stop shop for those that are willing to take charge of their own healthcare needs rather than relying on our health care systems to do it for us.

I really feel the last two years of COVID has made it evident to people that the healthcare system is a complete mess; but that doesn’t mean we have to be messed up right along with it.

There is definitely a place for western medicine. If I got into a serious accident today with the threat of losing a limb, I wouldn't run to the kitchen to mix up some herbs! But we have to understand that the current healthcare system ism't designed to deal with the underlying causes of chronic illnesses.

The onus is on us; and for ourselves and our families, step by step we can get better.

    Welcome back. It’s good to have you back.
    Also had a bad skin issue. A lot better. Will like tips on breakouts, pimple, acne. Never used to have them but now it’s a constant.
